From the beginning of time, humans have searched for a way to keep time. Since 1860, Chopard watches for men and women have kept seconds, minutes, hours and ever after-- beautifully--excelling in haute joaillerie (high-jewelry) watchmaking.
Louis-Ulysee Chopard's company, located in a small village in Switzerland, turned out incredible time pieces of elegant filigree, enamel dials with, of course, precise time-keeping qualities. The family built a worldwide reputation for pocket chronometers . Then in 1963 Karl Scheufele bought the firm from Chopard's grandson. Scheufele, a master goldsmith, with jewelry workshops in Germany, rounded out Chopard's reputation. His wife, Caroline, searched out precious stones and designed watches and jewelry pieces. Scheufele's family firm had already been creating watchcases, table clocks and pocket watches with the name 'Eszeha' on them. They spent several years designing and streamlining both companies and relaunched Chopard as a top-of-the-line luxury hallmark.

Not settling for precision and beauty, Chopard pushed for invention. One successful idea was inspired by the free-falling beauty of a waterfall. Chopard's signature Happy Diamond collection displays a watch in which diamond brilliants reveal their full beauty and glitter roaming free on the watch dial. The line's success has inspired the company to expand the collection to include watches with rubies, emerald or sapphires spinning on the dial. There is even a Chopard perfume with free-floating diamonds in the bottle.

There is a way to keep up with time…and Chopard has found it.
